1. Certified Meetings Professional (CMP)

2. Global Travel Professional (GTP)

For the event professional looking to boost their career in the business travel industry, the GTP certification from the Global Business Travel Association demonstrates expertise in the field. The exam covers a wide range of topics such as negotiating with suppliers, managing the financial aspects of overseas events, and more. 

3. Certified Quality Event Planner (CQEP)

The Management and Strategy Institute organizes this event planning certification around event planning fundamentals. If you are wondering about how to get certified in event planning, the CQEP is a good place to start with the foundational knowledge that most event planners need for success. Planning, creating a budget, using a storyboard with event planning and more are topics you'll learn about as you study for this certification. 

4. Certified Event Planning Specialist (CEPS)

A good certification for new professionals entering the event planning field. The 30-question exam required for the certification helps you demonstrate your entry-level knowledge of event planning. You don't need to take any courses or have industry work experience to take the test. 

5. Certification in Meeting Management (CMM)

A program by University of Virginia instructors who teach you the business management skills you need to help manage successful meetings. At the end of the coursework required for the CMM event planning license, you are required to complete a project to demonstrate your professional skills. 

6. Certified Special Events Professional (CSEP)

The International Live Events Association offers this event coordinator certification. The program is offered four times every year and applicants are expected to have at least three years of professional work experience in event planning. Keeping your certification requires certifying again every five years so you can stay updated on changes in the industry. 

7. Digital Event Strategist (DES)

Online event planning is different and has its own challenges. The DES allows you to become a certified event planner for virtual events, an increasingly important area of expertise these days. 8. Certified in Exhibition Management (CEM)

The International Association of Exhibitions and Events use this certification to enable professionals to show their expertise in managing exhibitions for corporate clients and employers. You have up to three years from the start of their training program to complete the nine classes and exams required for certification. 11. Certified Government Meeting Professional (CGMP)

15. Hospitality and Event Management Certificate from Lasell College
