When one of our amazing customers asked if we could deliver a feature that would allow event attendees to easily reference individual travel information right from the mobile app, most companies would have balked due to the rapidly approaching event date.
DoubleDutch is not like most event app companies. Thanks to our flexible DoubleDutch Developer Platform and our commitment to delivering a first-rate experience for customers and attendees, we were up for the challenge. We worked with our customer to finalize designs and review the proposed data integration, then delivered a resounding, “Yes, we can do that!”
Fueled by coffee and a little thing called the React Native Framework, DoubleDutch engineers cracked their knuckles and got to work building out the custom “My Travel” feature. What resulted is a simple, intuitive UI that we’re really proud of.
The “My Travel” feature is a custom-built extension to our event app that allows organizers to deliver personal travel information to each attendee including:
Car rental or ground transportation information
Accommodation information for hotels or Airbnbs
This is all delivered within the event app so that attendees can access it on the go as they travel to and from your event or meeting. Whether you’re trying to get tens, hundreds, or thousands of attendees from point A to Point B, ”My Travel” can save you and your team a lot of time. And while this requires some custom integration work to stream attendees’ information into the mobile event app, it’s well worth the additional scope needed to enable your team to manage attendee travel all in one place.
We consider this one of many feature request success stories.
